Carl Lauter, MD, FACP has been elected as the next Governor of the Michigan Chapter. He will be installed as the Governor Elect at Internal Medicine '09 in Philadelphia, and will assume the role of Governor one year later in April, 2010. Dr. Lauter is well known to many Michigan ACP members, as he has been a frequent contributor to the Chapter's scientific programs and its leadership bodies. His service to the Michigan ACP was recognized in 2001 when he was given a Laureate Award. Dr. Lauter graduated from Wayne State School of Medicine, and trained at both Henry Ford Hospital and Wayne State, and later, the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Allergy/Immunology. Dr. Lauter presently serves as Director of the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Beaumont Hospital, and as well is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Wayne State School of Medicine. Dr. Lauter is known for h is clinical acumen and a wonderful sense of humor.
