Doctors’ Dilemma Competition
ACP Associates’ Meeting, May 9, 2008
The Michigan Chapter of the American College of Physicians will be conducting a statewide “Doctors’ Dilemma Competition” as part of this year’s ACP Michigan Chapter Associates’ Meeting scheduled for May 9, 2008 at the Best Western Sterling Inn, Sterling Heights, Michigan. We are requesting all Internal Medicine Residency Programs in Michigan to participate by nominating a team consisting of four residents (3 starters and 1 alternate) from the PGY-1 and PGY-2 classes. The program director should submit the names of these residents nominated to represent the residency program using the form available on this website (www.acpmichigan.org). The top four teams of this preliminary competition will compete in the final competition at the ACP Michigan Chapter Annual Scientific Meeting in Dearborn, Michigan. The winning team from the final competition in Dearborn will be sponsored by the Michigan ACP Chapter to compete at the “Doctors’ Dilemma Competition” at Internal Medicine 2009 (ACP national meeting). The preliminary competition will be held on the afternoon of May 9th, 2008
Dr. Dileep Kumar from Port Huron Hospital has agreed to coordinate this event and develop the pool of questions for the competition. We are requesting each program to submit 25 questions to Dr. Kumar directly by email (dileepkumarp@yahoo.com) before April 1, 2008. He will review and modify the questions to suit the format of the competition, and ensure the integrity of the pool of questions. There are 16 residency programs in the State of Michigan and we hope that all residency programs would participate at this exciting and entertaining educational event. We are inviting Chief Medical Residents from the residency programs to help Dr. Kumar conduct this event. If you are interested in helping to moderate or organize this event, please contact Dr. Kumar directly.
The Doctors’ Dilemma competition will be conducted similar
to a TV game show. Rules for Doctors’
Dilemma are available on the website www.acpmichigan.org.
